Classics Club Book Spin

Wasn’t sure which book on my Classics Club list to read next (keep an eye out for an upcoming post about my latest read), so I decided to participate in the latest Classics Spin. Basically, you pick 20 books from your list that you still haven’t read — five you are hesitant to read, five you can’t wait to read, five you are neutral about, and five free choice (I picked rereads) — then post them numbered 1-20 before next Monday, when The Classics Club will announce a number. Then I have to read the book corresponding to that number by January 5. Here’s my list:

    Hallo, Hallo —

    I’ve been wanting to participate in a tCC SPIN all year long! 🙂 This is my first one and I’m beyond elated to join in so I can start to visit other clubber’s blogs & become more active in the tCC community! I’ve started to read after canons this year and will continue as 2015 begins as I found one on a blog tour that re-envisions Jane Eyre! Now, all I have to do is finish Jane Eyre before my tour stop! lol

    By the by, the two after canons I’m referencing are published by Cedar Fort — a faith-based Indie Pub, the first one was “Sense & Sensibility: a Latter-Day Tale” & my next one will be “Keeping Kate” (the one on Jane Eyre!)       Jane Eyre is one of my very favorite books ever. Haven’t read any after canons for it yet — I’ll have to check out “Keeping Kate.”

      So excited to read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Emily of New Moon! I love L.M. Montgomery’s other work, and I keep seeing Emily recommended. Picked up a lovely copy at a book store a few weeks ago, so it’s just waiting to be read. And since I’ve read books by Charlotte Brontë and Emily Brontë, I wanted to read one by their sister.

    I’m very impressed that you want to read #1; I’ve had it on my mental list for awhile, but I’m too scared to put it in writing! I just finished Othello and it was soul-wrenching. Frankenstein is a wonderful read too.

      Thank you. I referenced Burke’s “Reflections on the Revolution” when writing my undergrad thesis, but only read the chapters I was quoting directly. I felt that I should eventually read the entire thing 🙂
